Help Voicy spell names and unusual words

Dictionary helps Voicy recognise words you use often. It is useful for a person's name, a company name, or a specialist term.

Add a word

1. Open Voicy → Dictionary.
2. Click the box labelled Add word or phrase....
3. Type the correct spelling. For example, type a family member's name.
4. Press Enter on your keyboard.

The word appears in the list and is saved automatically. There is no separate “Update dictionary” button in version 3.0.0. Add another word in the same way.

Try the word

1. Open a note and click in its writing area.
2. Start a recording and use the word in a full sentence.
3. Stop the recording and check the spelling.

A sentence gives Voicy more information than a single word on its own. Dictionary improves recognition, but you should still check important names.

Remove or correct a word

Click the small remove button beside the word. To correct its spelling, remove it and add the correct version.

If Dictionary is full

The counter shows how much of the 600-character space you have used. Letters, spaces, and separators count toward this total. Remove words you no longer need if a size warning appears.

For a phrase such as “my email” that should become your full email address, use Voice shortcuts instead. Your Dictionary is saved on this computer; use Export / Import to move it to another one.
