A Voice shortcut replaces a phrase you say with text you have saved. For example, say “my email” and Voicy types your full email address.

Create a shortcut

  1. Open Voicy → Voice shortcuts.
  2. Click + Add voice shortcut.
  3. In You say, type a short phrase, such as my email.
  4. In Voicy types, type the text you want instead, such as [email protected].
  5. Click Save.

Choose a phrase you can remember and would not normally say by accident. You can save a longer message, including more than one line, in Voicy types.

Use it in a recording

  1. Click in the place where you want to write.
  2. Start a normal Voicy recording.
  3. Say your saved phrase, on its own or inside a sentence.
  4. Stop the recording.

Voicy puts the saved text in place of the phrase. You do not press a special keyboard shortcut for this feature. Saved Voice shortcuts also work with Offline mode.

Change or remove a shortcut

In Voice shortcuts, find the saved item. Click Edit, make your changes, and click Save. Click Delete to remove it.

Older videos call this feature Replace text or Text replacements. The current name is Voice shortcuts. Use Export / Import to move your saved shortcuts to another computer.
