Use spoken punctuation commands
Say “comma” or “new line” when you want more control over your text.
Mac · Windows · LinuxVoicy 3.0.0Updated
Watch the tutorialVoicy already adds punctuation when you speak normally. Spoken commands let you ask for a particular mark or line break.
Turn on punctuation commands
- Open Voicy → Settings.
- Find Punctuation commands.
- Turn its switch on.
Try a short message
- Click in the place where you want to write.
- Tap your recording shortcut.
- Say: “Hello there, exclamation mark, new line, I will see you tomorrow, full stop.”
- Tap the shortcut again to stop.
- Read the result. Voicy should use the spoken instructions to add the marks and a new line.
You can also say comma, question mark, or new paragraph. Speak the command where you want the change to happen. See the punctuation commands page for more examples.
If a command becomes an ordinary word
Check that Punctuation commands is on, then try a short sentence again. Keep your instructions simple and check the result before sending your message. To let Voicy handle everything, speak naturally without saying punctuation commands.
