Using Voicy

Let Voicy add punctuation and organise your text

Use automatic punctuation, paragraphs, and lists without typing them yourself.

Speak naturally. Voicy adds punctuation for you, so you do not have to say “comma” or “full stop” after every sentence.

Choose automatic formatting

  1. Open Voicy → Settings.
  2. Turn on Punctuation commands to use Voicy's additional formatting options.
  3. Turn on Automatic spacing and paragraphs if you want long recordings divided into shorter paragraphs.
  4. Turn on Formatting as lists if you want spoken lists organised as bullet points.
  5. Choose whether to turn on Remove filler words.

Paragraphs and lists are on by default for a new installation. Filler-word removal is off by default. Your saved choices may be different.

Try an example

  1. Click in a note and start recording.
  2. Say: “Here is what I need to buy. Apples, milk, bread, and coffee.”
  3. Stop recording and read the result.

Voicy uses what you say to choose punctuation and layout. The exact result can vary. Always read important text before sending it.

Adapt the layout to your app

Context-aware formatting helps Voicy format an email differently from a chat message or a document. For a specific style every time, create a Custom Mode.

If you want fewer changes

Turn off the paragraph, list, or filler-word options you do not want. Turn off Punctuation commands to try the simpler dictation path. Also check that a Custom Mode is not selected.
