Open your document and place the blinking line where you want your words. Voicy uses its own recording shortcut to write into Word.

Write in Word

  1. Open Voicy and leave it running.
  2. Open your Word document. On Linux, use Word in your browser.
  3. Make sure you can edit the document, then click in its writing area.
  4. Tap your Voicy shortcut and speak.
  5. Tap it again to stop.
  6. Wait for the text, then check it.

For a new paragraph or a specific punctuation mark, see Spoken punctuation commands.

Rewrite part of a document

Highlight the words you want to change, use your Rewrite Mode shortcut, and say what you want changed. Check the result before saving your document.

If Word will not accept your words

Check whether you can type a few letters into the document yourself. If not, it may be locked or read-only. Once you can edit it, copy your saved transcript from Voicy → Home → History and paste it into Word.

Word's own Dictate button is a separate feature. You do not need to press it to use Voicy.
