Find text that did not appear in your app

Check the permission Voicy needs to type into other apps.

Check Mac writing permissions

1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
2. Turn Voicy on.
3. If macOS asks about Automation, allow Voicy to use System Events.
4. Quit and reopen Voicy, then try a short recording in a note.

First check whether you can paste normally into your chosen app.

Check pasting on Windows

1. Copy a saved transcript from Voicy → Home → History.
2. Click in an editable text field in the other app.
3. Press Ctrl + V.

If manual pasting works, your text is recoverable while you check Voicy. If it fails only in an app run as administrator, try a normal window of that app or contact support with its name.

Some Linux desktops need a one-time setup before Voicy can paste automatically.

Check pasting on Linux

1. If Voicy shows Enable paste on Wayland, click Set up now and follow the password prompt.
2. Save your work and log out and back in if Voicy asks you to.
3. Try a recording in a plain note.

You can choose Later and use the manual copy-and-paste option instead. If a manual-paste dialog appears, follow its instructions. You can also copy your text from History and press Ctrl + V in your document.

Open Voicy → Home → History first. Your text may have been transcribed successfully even if it did not appear where you expected.

Recover saved text

1. Find the newest entry in History.
2. If it contains your text, click Copy.
3. Return to your document or email and click exactly where the words should go.
4. Paste with Command + V on Mac or Ctrl + V on Windows and Linux.

If History was off, the entry may not have been saved. If it says the recording failed, use Retry while its audio is still available and you are connected to the internet.

Check the writing area

Before the next recording, click inside a field you can edit. Type a few letters to confirm it accepts text, then remove them. Keep that area selected until Voicy finishes. Check that the words did not go into a subject line, search box, or another open app.

If the result appears in a popup

Click Copy in the popup, return to the document, and paste. Rewrite Mode can show a popup when it cannot safely replace text in the selected place.

If it keeps happening

Try a plain note to check whether it affects every app or just one. If needed, use Report beside the History entry and tell us the app you were using.
