Fix dictation that is slow or gets stuck
Check the connection, recover a failed recording, and try a short test.
A longer recording can take longer to finish. If Voicy remains on processing or shows an error, try the steps below.
Check your connection
- Open a familiar website in your browser to see whether your internet is working.
- If a Wi-Fi sign-in page appears, finish signing in to the network.
- Return to Voicy and try one short sentence.
AI rewriting and file transcription need internet. Offline mode needs its model downloaded and loaded before local dictation can finish.
Stop a stuck recording
Press Esc to cancel a recording or processing that is still in progress. A cancelled result will not be pasted. If the recording has already failed, check Home → History for Retry or Download before closing the app.
Check Faster processing
- Open Voicy → Settings → Advanced settings → Open.
- Find Faster processing and turn it on.
- Try a short normal dictation.
Faster processing sends online dictation audio while you speak, so less work remains after you stop. It is on by default for a new installation. If it appears to cause a problem with your network, try turning it off for one short test.
Restart and report
Quit Voicy completely and reopen it. If it still gets stuck, report the affected entry in History or email [email protected]. Include the error message, your computer type, and whether Offline mode was on.
