Use Voicy's desktop app while Gmail is open in your browser. You remain in control of sending the email.

Write your email

  1. Open Voicy and leave it running.
  2. In Gmail, click Compose, or open an email and click Reply.
  3. Click in the message body, below the subject line.
  4. Tap your Voicy recording shortcut and speak your message.
  5. Tap the shortcut again and wait for the text.
  6. Read the message. Check the recipient and subject yourself, then click Send when you are ready.

Click in the subject field separately if you want to dictate a subject. Voicy writes into whichever field is selected.

Give your email a particular style

Context-aware formatting helps Voicy recognise an email. You can also create a Custom Mode using the Email example for a greeting, sign-off, or a tone you prefer.

To change an email you have already written, select its text and use Rewrite Mode.

If the email body stays empty

Check Voicy → Home → History. Click Copy beside the saved text, click back in the email body, and paste. Confirm that the text did not go into the subject or another field before recording again.
