Use the Voicy desktop app while Google Docs is open in your browser. These steps use Voicy's recording shortcut.

Write in your document

  1. Open Voicy and leave it running.
  2. Open a Google document you can edit.
  3. Click in the document where you want to write. A blinking line should appear.
  4. Tap your Voicy recording shortcut and speak your sentence.
  5. Tap it again to stop and wait for your words.
  6. Read the text and make any corrections you need.

Change existing text

Select the text you want to change, then use Rewrite Mode. For a particular style on new dictations, select a Custom Mode while recording.

If nothing appears

Make sure the document lets you edit it rather than only view it. Click in the document body again. You can recover saved text from Voicy → Home → History → Copy, then paste it into the document.

Google Docs also has its own Voice typing tool. You do not need to start that tool when using the Voicy desktop app.
