About Voicy.
Voicy is an independent speech-to-text app that helps people write with their voice across computers and phones.
I built Voicy because I wanted my dad to be able to write without fighting his keyboard. Today, thousands of people use it to get their words out more easily.
How it started
It started with one finger.
My dad is a workaholic. When he visited me in London, I watched him open his laptop and get to work every day. Every time he needed to write an email, he typed with one finger. Tick, tick, tick. Even a short message took ages.
He had tried dictation tools before, but they were not accurate enough for him to trust. Around the same time, I was using AI to dictate my own writing. I showed him, and he loved it.
Then I had a question: how could I make that experience available to him everywhere, not just in one app? That question became Voicy. I am a developer, so I started building a tool he could use wherever he needed to write.
